Prophet 21 Reporting & Dashboard Development

Your team lives in Excel exports because the report they actually need doesn’t exist in P21. We build it — fast, accurate, and tied to your real schema.

The hidden cost of bad reporting

When the system can’t answer the question, your people invent workarounds: reps pull their own numbers, finance rebuilds the same spreadsheet every month, and leadership makes decisions on data that’s already stale. There’s no single source of truth, and every “quick question” turns into an afternoon of manual exports.

P21 Consultanting

What we build

  • Custom Crystal Reports — invoices, pick tickets, statements, and operational reports built around your process
  • SSRS reports for scheduled, distributed reporting
  • Custom SQL views and stored procedures that expose the exact data you need
  • Power BI dashboards for live operational and financial visibility

The reports distributors ask us for most

  • Margin by customer, product, and sales rep
  • Inventory aging and dead-stock identification
  • Open orders, backorders, and fill-rate tracking
  • Sales rep performance and commission reporting
  • Purchasing and vendor performance
  • AR aging and cash-flow visibility

Built to be fast and safe

We report against read-only views and indexed queries so your dashboards never hammer the production database or slow down order entry. Refreshes are scheduled around your workload, not on top of it.

How engagements work

Reporting work fits inside our Tier 1 retainer (Fractional DBA & Reporting) — ongoing report development and SQL tuning on a predictable monthly basis, with the flexibility to scale up when a larger project lands.

FAQ

Can you connect Power BI to Prophet 21?

Yes. We build a safe, read-only reporting layer over your P21 data and connect Power BI to it, so dashboards stay live without risking the production database.

Crystal Reports or Power BI — which should we use?

Crystal is ideal for transactional documents and pixel-perfect printed output; Power BI is better for interactive dashboards and trend analysis. Most distributors need both, and we build in either.

Will custom reporting slow down P21?

Not when it’s built correctly. We use read-only views, proper indexing, and scheduled refreshes so reporting never competes with order entry for resources.

Can you fix our existing broken reports?

Yes — repairing and optimizing inherited Crystal/SSRS reports and slow queries is a core part of our day-to-day work.
